Two PCIe SSDs From OWC

Other World Computing (OWC) debuted a range of products at its NAB in Las Vegas, NV, April 13-16:

• OWC Drive Dock
• Mercury Accelsior Pro Q high performance PCIe SSD
• Mercury Accelsior S PCIe SSD

These new products deliver higher speeds and increased storage capacity to meet the high performance requirements for professionals in content creation.

OWC Drive Dock  
The OWC Drive Dock combines the convenience of immediate plug and play access to 1×3.5″ or 2×2.5″ bare SATA drives with the amazing speed of Thunderbolt 2 connectivity in a sleek, rugged aluminum enclosure. The dock comes with a USB 3.0 port and two Thunderbolt 2 ports for daisy-chain support. It is perfect for professionals who need to frequently swap drives between projects. It will be available in the summer of 2015. Pricing will be released at that time.

Accelsior Pro Q High Performance PCIe SSD

At up to 4TB capacity and capable of speeds up to 1,345MB/s, Accelsior Pro Q is the next generation of high-performance PCIe SSD technology – more than double the speed of SATA 6Gb/s. Content creation professionals can now enjoy the speed and capacity they need for demanding production workflows. It will be available in May 2015.  Pricing will be released at that time.

Accelsior S PCIe SSD

With up to 500 MB/s of throughput, the Accelsior S dual-lane PCIe 2.0 card delivers flexible storage expansion – with a speed boost – to Mac and PC towers, and Thunderbolt expansion chassis. It is the complement to Mercury family of high-performance SSDs, delivering up to 1TB of fast storage expansion, and bringing SATA 6Gb/s speed, via PCIe, to machines previously limited by SATA 3Gb/s architecture. It will be available in late April 2015. Pricing will be released at that time.
