Skyera skyHawk Shipping in Volume
Bringing affordable all-flash solid-state storage system to mainstream
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 9, 2014 at 2:41 pmSkyera Inc. announced volume shipments of its skyHawk, expanding the reach of the all-flash enterprise solid-state storage system to broader customer bases looking to improve their productivity at a price point comparable to legacy spinning disk storage arrays.
skyHawk has received industry acclaims as an innovative product, substantiating the company’s approach to mainstream enterprise solid-state storage. It serves as a direct replacement for traditional spinning disk arrays, bringing performance, efficiency and flash capacity to target applications, while consuming less power and floor space.
Since its initial launch, skyHawk’s distribution has been limited to select customers in order to ensure customer experience and supply. Now shipping in volume, skyHawk is positioned to bring improvements in productivity and competitive advantage to a number of organizations.
Leveraging a system-wide design approach and NAND flash, skyHawk delivers density and efficiency to mitigate the expense of data growth. Combining that with Skyera’s SeOS software stack, skyHawk delivers customer benefits on many fronts.
“The interest in solid-state storage solutions continues to build, but until the debut of the affordable skyHawk, many organizations simply didn’t have the financial resources to replace their legacy disk-based storage systems with an all-flash array,” said Radoslav Danilak, CEO, Skyera. “Initially, we rolled out skyHawk to select enterprise customers and government organizations; the product received enthusiastic feedback and we are very confident in opening up availability of skyHawk to customers looking to benefit from its unprecedented density and efficiency.“
