HDD Shipments Grew 5% to 140 Million From 2Q13 to 3Q13 – Trendfocus

Trendfocus, Inc., the only analyst firm in the world totally focused on HDDs and SSDs only, has calculated that precisely 140.15 million of HDDs were shipped in 3Q13, a 5.1% growth compared to 2Q13.

Desktop (+7%), CE (+18%), and branded (+11%) shipments improve, while enterprise (-0.5%) eases slightly and mobile (0%) was flat.

Ranking continues to be the same with WD leading the pack in number of HDDs (with 44.7%) in front of Seagate (39.7%) and Toshiba (15.6%). Their market share grew quarterly 2.5%, 4.6% and -7.2%, respectively.

Flat HDD global market is expected for 4Q13.
