4.0 release of SanXfer.

This release incorporates additional customer and partner-driven
requirements to support automated operations, block-based disk
migrations and VMware 5.x environments.
This automated functionality includes an API to the library
server, a CLI scripting capability, support for hands-free operations
and the ability to create boot ISO images in the field.
"While SanXfer-s interactive approach to server migration
remains the most reliable, quickest and easiest to use, these
automated enhancements have further distanced SanXfer from our
competitors," stated
CEO Brad Hargett. "Further, neither PlateSpin Migrate
nor Double-Take Move can match the innovative way in which SanXfer
simplifies the server and data migration process."
With the ability to create boot ISOs in the field, the company has
distanced itself from its competitors who require that their
specialists get involved in the task of creating boot ISOs, which can
add many days, weeks, even months to the migration process.
When migrating data from one platform to another (whether
heterogeneous or homogeneous, iSCSI or FC), SanXfer-s Data TranXfer
feature provides the ability to bypass file system overhead and
perform block-based (raw) disk migrations.
"Through this new approach, customers with millions of
files within a single file system can migrate their data in a
fraction of the time it would normally take," commented
Mitchell Mikula, VP software engineering.
Another enhancement is the support and validation of VMware 5
environments. It ensures that customers who wish to migrate to or
from VMware 5 can do so in a straight-forward manner.
It provides a strong server migration utility to support P2P,
P2V, V2P, local-to-SAN booting, FC booting, iSCSI booting, and VM
support (VMware, Hyper-V, and Xen). With option, there is the added
benefit of heterogeneous data transfer support.
InQuinox has validated that SanXfer supports all major hardware
manufacturers.
