IBM Storwize V3700 dc Models Powered From 48V

IBM Storwize V3700 dc models are designed specifically for the telecommunications industry and for service provider environments:

• Storwize V3700 Small Form Factor (SFF) DC Dual Control Enclosure
• Storwize V3700 SFF DC Expansion Enclosure

These models are designed to support the same functional capabilities as the Storwize V3700 ac powered models, but are powered from 48 V dc power source.

Storwize V3700 SFF DC Dual Control Enclosure features dual node canisters, with 4GB or 8GB cache per canister, in a 2U 19-inch rack mount enclosure. 6GB SAS and 1GbE iSCSI host attachment support is standard, with an option for 8GB FC or 10GbE iSCSI/FCoE host attachment.

The control and expansion enclosures each support twenty-four 2.5-inch SFF 6GB SAS drives. High-performance disk drives, high-capacity nearline HDDs, and SSDs are supported. A Storwize V3700 system scales up to 120 drives with the attachment of up to four Storwize V3700 expansion enclosures.

Storwize V3700 features include:

• RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10 for data protection
• Set of standard functions, including virtualized internal storage, thin provisioning, data migration, and data replication
• Optional licensed functions including Turbo performance, Easy Tier, and remote mirroring
• Web-based GUI for easy system setup and management

The dc-powered models conform to applicable NEBS level 3 documents and to applicable ETSI documents. Storwize V3700 ac-powered models now also conform to applicable NEBS level 3 and ETSI documents.

Additionally, Storwize V3700 offers a 4TB 7,200rpm 6Gb/s SAS NL 3.5-inch HDD. This dual-port, hot-swappable drive offers a capacity option for cost-oriented environments and increases the physical capacity supported in Storwize V3700 LFF enclosures.

The 4TB disk drive option fulfills the Statement of General Direction in Hardware Announcement 113-094, dated June 10, 2013.

Storwize V3700 dc models require Storwize V3700 licensed machine code level 7.1.0.2, or later.

Conformance to applicable NEBS level 3 and ETSI documents requires Storwize V3700 licensed machine code level 7.1.0.3, or later.

Storwize V3700 dc models
are supported for attachment to select:

• IBM System x and IBM Power Systems servers
• IBM Flex System , IBM BladeCenter , and IBM Power System blades
• Intel and AMD processor-based servers
• HP Itanium and PA-RISC servers
• Oracle and Sun SPARC servers
