Unigen Enhancing EnduraCharge SSDs Around LSI SF-2500 Controller

Unigen Corporation has announced improvements to its patented EnduraCharge family of flash drives, featuring power loss protection, with densities from 80GB-480GB.

EnduraCharge technology is deployed on model 2500c, to prevent corruption or data loss in the event of an unintentional power interrupt. This technology totally eliminates unscheduled downtime for drive reformatting and reinstalling system OS.

Improvements on the EnduraCharge drives involve the use of polymer capacitors. Polymer capacitors feature longer life, low and stable ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance), and tolerance to higher ripple currents compared to electrolytic capacitors. Low and stable ESR improves response to current transitions, prevents malfunction and dangerous thermal runaways. Unlike electrolytic capacitors, polymers do not generate dangerous gasses during operation.

The 2500c drives, designed around the LSI SF-2500 controllers, are for NAS systems and large scale computing, or mission critical platforms. They offer performance, AES encryption, and reliability.

With a random 4KB file R/W performance of up to 60K IO/s, the EnduraCharge drives assure data streaming speed, application load time and on-line transaction processing.
