Mark Leslie Board’s Director, Nebula

Nebula, a private cloud company, announced the appointment of industry veteran and former Veritas Software chairman and CEO Mark Leslie to the company’s board of directors.

 Leslie, an investor and board member in various high tech start-ups and lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, designed and developed the first software hypervisor while employed at IBM in 1969.

During his tenure as CEO, Veritas experienced success-growing from 12 to 6,000 employees and growing yearly revenues from zero to over $1.5 billion, making it the 10th largest independent software company by revenue, third largest by market capitalization, and achieved the distinction of becoming a Fortune 1000 company.

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics and mathematics from New York University in 1966 and completed Harvard Business School’s program for management development in 1980.

In addition to Nebula, Leslie serves on the board of directors of companies including Big Switch, Nutanix, Liquid Robotics, Model N Software, Proxim Data, Pure Storage, Skybox Imaging, Sugar CRM. In addition, he serves on the NYU Board of Trustees, the NYC Board of Overseers and is the chairman of the NYU Science Advisory Board.
