Carbonite,
Inc. is bringing enterprise database server
backup capabilities to the small business market with the
introduction of Enhanced
Server Backup.

Local/Cloud Redundancy
With this addition the company provides
a backup experience across all platforms, ranging from PCs, Macs,
mobile devices, and databases including SQL server, Exchange server,
MySQL, Oracle, and SharePoint. It brings the ability to backup the
Windows System State, including Active directory, system volume,
certificate server, boot files, Internet Information Services (IIS),
and registry, means that a server can be restored in its entirety,
with no need to reconfigure the OS or reload applications. This
capability is similar to bare metal disk imaging and also offers the
advantages of a file-based backup solution.

Unlimited Server Backup Pricing
Keeping track of licenses can be a
burden for small businesses. Since there are no limits to the number
of computers or databases that can share one subscription, IT
managers are free to backup every computer and database in the
company, not just the most critical servers.

High-Speed Server Backup
Speed was a primary goal in the design
of this solution and it is optimized for cloud backup performance.
Based on the available bandwidth and system resources, the backup
rates of may reach speeds in excess of 1GB/s. All data is uploaded
to the cloud using an SSL connection. For data privacy and regulatory
compliance, businesses can use AES-256 encryption for both local and
cloud storage with private keys.

Built on Proven Technology
The backup service is built on the open
source Amanda platform, which has an estimated installed base of over
one million computers.
