US
Signal LLC has enhanced their cloud
hosting
services by adding the ability to backup virtual
infrastructure on-demand.
VM-based backup service replicates
virtual servers on a daily basis and stores them in a geographically
diverse company’s owned and operated data center. Upon request, the
service can restores corrupted or malfunctioning VMs up to one month
from the incident that compromised it.
It eliminates the need for customers to
use 3rd party software to backup and store virtual infrastructure.
Customers are also relieved of the capital expense included in
purchasing and maintaining software needed for some backup solutions.
Instead of burdening in-house IT with backup and recovery activities,
these tasks are managed by US Signal Network Operations (NOC)
technicians.
"The day-to-day backup
operations are transparent to our customers as this service does not
require powering down virtual OSs and applications," said
Matt VanderZwaag, director of product development. "If a VM
needs to be restored, all it takes is an email or phone call to our
NOC to immediately begin restoral procedures," he noted.
The service is supported by the
company’s fiber-optic network architecture. Multiple data centers
distributed throughout the network provide diverse data transport.
This diversity inherently safeguards the reliability of customer data
so they have it when it is needed – the key to a successful DR
plan.
