Quadstor Storage Virtualization Now Open Sourced
Software was available since two years free of charge.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 16, 2013 at 2:58 pmEver since its first beta release close to two
years ago, QUADStor Systems‘ storage virtualization
software has been available free of charge.
Over these two years many features such as
clustering, HA, etc., have been added. The popularity of the software has grown
in the past two years finding its way into many data centers and home
deployments alike.
The company reached a point where it felt that an
open source development model is the best way forward for this mature, feature
rich software.
The primary reason is that it wants its customers
to have license which gives them freedom and it has chosen the GPL v2 license. Its
open source VTL software has been another factor in this decision.
