Eurocom Panther 5SE Mobile Server Supports Intel 600/800GB SSD

Eurocom
Corp. is adding the 600GB
and 800GB Intel SSD DC S3500 Series to the Panther 5SE Mobile
Server.

The Panther 5 server edition is the 4th
generation of mobile server powered by Intel Xeon processors, continuing the
tradition of capable, upgradeable and expandable server grade hardware from the
company.

It’s a 12 lbs, 6 kg mobile server equipped
with 8 core, 16 thread Xeon processors, up to 4TB of RAIDable storage and
32GB of quad channel memory.

The addition of the DC S3500 series gives
customers greater choice of storage options to go along with enterprise Intel
SSD DC S3700 series drives, and others.

To protect against data loss and corruption
the DC 3500 series utilizes error correction, such as parity check, cyclical redundancy
check and LBA tag validation. Combined with RAID-0/1/5/10 capability of
the Panther 5SE ensures data redundancy and performance.  

The Intel SSD provides 20nm MLC NAND flash
memory with low latencies and tight IO/s distribution. 

DC S3700 and DC S3500 SSDs combine
read performance, command response times with data protection and
low active power levels for low power consumption. Performance from the
DC 3500 series with a low active read power of less than 1.3 watts mean that it
improves server efficiency and lowers operating costs.

What
is a Eurocom Mobile Server?
A mobile server is a category of server class
notebook form factor computer. The all-in-one compact design, single computer
solution allows for server capability anytime, anywhere. A server-on-the-go
allows for either ‘on-the-go’, ‘rapid server deployment’ or ‘ad hoc’ (temporary
network setup) when single server capability is required, multiple OS
compatibility is needed and running VMs is a must. A portable server solution
is tailored for software and database developers, training centers, military
personnel, manufacturing, marketing and trade shows, emergency relief and
service organizations.

All
in One Design
The company’s mobile servers are built upon an all
in one design and are equipped with an integrated keyboard, 17.3" LCD
display, touch pad and uninterruptible power supply (battery pack).

Xeon Processors
The mobile server is driven by a line of optional 6
and 8 core Xeon E5 processors, based on the LGA 2011 processor socket, to
offer customers performance and scalability for mission critical applications. The Xeon E5-2690 has 8 cores, 16 threads, 20MB of L3 cache, running at
2.9GHz, supports Intel vPro technology, Intel virtualization technology, Intel
Hyper-Threading Technology and Intel virtualization technology for I/O.

Memory
They are equipped with large amounts of
quality memory. It uses quad channel memory, and enables it to support up
to 32GB of DDR3 1600MHz RAM via four 8GB SODIMM 204 pin modules. With such amounts
of RAM available, the Panther 5SE becomes a tool for virtualization and server
class environments.

Storage
They are designed to support large amounts of high
capacity, redundant storage options for server class environments. Solid state,
hybrid, or enterprise drives with RAID capability are supported in the Panther
5SE. With support for up to four 1TB storage drives, it is able to offer 4TB of
storage. RAID-0, -1, -5, -10 capability gives users performance and redundancy. 
  

It also supports storage expansion through
the optical drive bay as it can be swapped out for an additional storage drive
or can be used to backup data through the BluRay burner. Storage can be
expanded through the eSATA port to an external storage medium as well.

LAN
The mobile server solution reduces the time and
cost of deploying short-term LAN based solutions and of extending the usage of
existing business applications to users wherever is required. The Panther
5SE is equipped with an Intel 82579V GbE with an option for quad-port
GbE, A second LAN adapter can also be added via the ExpressCard slot or a quad
port LAN through the MagmaExpress Box. Additional LAN capability can be added
through the ExpressCard slot itself, while also allowing connection to a
MagamExpressBox for even greater LAN capability. Quad Port Ethernet
Adapter available via ExpressCard and MagmaBox.

OSs
Mobile servers support a variety of server class OSs such as Windows 2012,
2008 R2, VMware ESXi, RedHat, Linux.
