Unigen: Family of Rugged SSDs
60 to 512GB, 1.8- and 2.5-inch, SLC/eMLC/MLC, 6Gb SATA
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 11, 2013 at 2:54 pmUnigen Corporation announced a family of rugged SSDs designed for embedded industrial applications, networking switches and routers, automotive, medical and communication equipment.
They are available in 1.8" and 2.5" form factors, with SATA II and SATA III interfaces, and in densities of 60/100/120/200/240/400/480/512GB.
The SSDs are tested to meet MIL-STD-810 Shock & Vibration, Low Temperature and Thermal Shock. All BGA components on the SSDs are treated with epoxy based underfill.
The drives may be individually customized with optional features such as type of NAND flash (SLC/eMLC/MLC), components that meet either commercial or industrial temperature ranges, data encryption, and power loss protection. Features such as Secure Erase, Sanitize, Self-Encrypt and Decrypt are also offered upon customer request. SSDs are optionally treated with conformal coating to MIL-I-46058C, or encapsulated for thermal and corrosion protection.
Unigen’s patented EnduraCharge technology, deployed on some drives prevents corruption or data loss in the event of an unintentional power interrupt. This technology eliminates unscheduled downtime for drive reformatting and reinstalling system OS.
