EVault Appoints Data Continuity Group as Cloud DR Managed Services Partner

In UK

Data
Continuity Group Ltd
(DCG) has been appointed as EVault’s
first Cloud DR
(EVault CDR) managed services partner.

DCG’smanaged
cloud-based DR service will remove the manual burden and risks of DR for SMBs, particularly those that rely on HA of data
to operate.

DCG’s CDR service – which is only available
through EVault’s network of Cloud-Connected Partners – will be launched in
February
.

DCG has been an EVault partner for 18
months. Historically the company has provided a value added EVault based
managed backup service – DCG Cloud Backup. CDR will dovetail with the
partner’s existing service offerings, benefiting from DCG’s UK compliant data
centres and 24/7 Network Operations Centre.

The UK’s cloud services market is growing,
with a 27% increase in first time users over the last 18 months and
accelerated adoption in the last nine months, according to the UK Cloud
Industry Forum.

Through the EVault enabled service and for
a fixed fee DCG will provide recovery of its customers’ critical systems
and data from within its own cloud, giving the assurance of remote access to
their data in a secure, virtual cloud environment in the event of a site outage
or disaster.

Andrew Brewerton, regional director of
EVault EMEA West comments: "This
offering through DCG takes cloud DR to a new level in the UK. The cost of
traditional tape and disk based recovery means that hot – and sometimes warm –
site recovery is often unaffordable for mid-size businesses, even though their
data is no less mission-critical than enterprises with larger IT budgets. Cloud
DR, offered through DCG, will allow those companies to invest in hot site
DR, perhaps for the first time.
"

Alan Back, director at DCG explains why the
company was keen to sell CDR: "Everything
points to cloud DR being a major IT growth area and we wanted to be first to
market with a leading solution. Our technical team were impressed by the EVault
solution so it was our natural choice. Our close relationship with EVault also
allows us shape the product roadmap by providing them with feedback from our
customers, thus ensuring the evolution of the product is desirable to UK and
international businesses.
"

CDR will be available through DCG
and marketed as Cloud DR – an OPEX based, easy to implement and scalable
service.

Brewerton concludes: "We are delighted to bring CDR to the UK with
DCG and believe it could be a real game-changer for the DR market. But more
than that, we are excited to build on the new channel partnerships that will
develop as a result of this solution. DCG is at the forefront of the CDR
movement for us in the UK.
"

More than 38,000 midmarket companies rely
on EVault cloud-connected backup and recovery services.
