Charityshare Selects Violin Memory and Capita IT Services

Violin Memory, Inc. announced that Charityshare Ltd., the consortium IT
venture that supports charities such as Age UK, The Alzheimer’s Society, and The
Children’s Society with their IT infrastructure requirements, has chosen
Violin, in partnership with Capita IT Services, to provide a flash storage
solution for its VDI deployment.

Charityshare required a storage solution to
support their simulated production environment of 800 – 2,000 concurrent users.
Violin Memory stepped up to the challenge with its 3000 Series array with dual
gateways. The Violin solution supported the Proof of Concept (POC)
phase with 2,000 concurrent user sessions and Charityshare contracted with
Violin Memory to support the VDI deployment at Age UK, one of its charities.

By investing in flash storage for its VDI
implementation, offering a solution that’s faster and provides lower latency
than traditional magnetic disk media, Charityshare further demonstrates its
commitment to providing charities with practical, effective and economical IT
solutions.

UK’s desktop refresh we took the decision to implement the VDI application with

Arrays could support a demanding environment of 2,000 users and came in on
