Guidance Software Debuts Fast USB 3.0 Forensic SATA/IDE Bridge
For forensic imaging in lab and field environments
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 12, 2012 at 2:56 pmGuidance Software Inc., in digital investigations, announced the fast Tableau T35u USB 3.0 forensic SATA/IDE bridge for forensic imaging in both lab and field environments.
The T35u forensic bridge supports write-blocked, forensic acquisitions of both SATA and IDE storage devices through an USB 3.0 host connection. It offers forensic examiners the ease of use, reliability and imaging speed necessary to image today’s larger and faster HDDs. Users simply connect, power up and image.
"Forensic practitioners worldwide rely on Tableau write blockers for their quality, ease of use and performance," said Jim Borecki, VP of the forensic business unit for Guidance Software. "The T35u is our fastest write blocker yet. When used with appropriate imaging software, the T35u is over twice as fast as our T35es write blocker. Our internal testing shows it to be the fastest write blocker available today."
For security, T35u introduces the new ‘firmware update’ button, which places the T35u in a special mode for updating its firmware through the Tableau Firmware Update (TFU) utility. TFU has been rewritten for updates via USB, making it easier to maintain the correct version of firmware on new Tableau products.
For smaller form factor drives such as 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch notebook, ZIP, microSATA and blade-style SSD drives, the Tableau TKA5-AD adapter kit is compatible for use with the T35u.
The T35u is available.
