Replacing Scott Genereux moving to Oracle

On Linkedin, Scott Genereux updated his profile. He left Nirvanix where he was president and CEO since November 2010 to become SVP of Global Hardware Strategy, Planning and Product Management at Oracle. Dru Borden replaces him as CEO of Nirvanix.

nirvanix_dru_borden With over 15 years experience in leading application development and software architecture teams at media & entertainment giants, Dru Borden joined Nirvanix in 2012 as chief strategy officer and was recently promoted to CEO. At Nirvanix, he will focus on the company’s technologies for large unstructured content files prevalent in the healthcare, financial services and media & entertainment industries as well as focusing on next generation horizontal business solutions for backup, archive and large-scale content collaboration. Borden was VP, Application Architecture at CBS, where he was responsible for leading the enterprise application practice, supporting core business systems which generated over $5 billion in annual revenue. Prior to CBS, he was VP and chief software architect, Media Technologies, at NBCUniversal, leading the Platform Development Team consisting of 40+ architects and developers worldwide. This engineering team developed applications that supported more than 100 NBCUniversal online properties with usage of more than 30 million video streams and a billion+ social interactions and page views monthly. Borden is also responsible for the creation of NBCU’s cable, satellite and telco user authentication standards and infrastructure that launched during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Borden is also the co-creator of FLOW – Field Level Operations Watch – an open source Android app that leverages the cloud to generate maps and vital land statistics, providing countries with the ability to record data from tens of thousands of water points around the world in real-time. Borden gained application development experience at a variety of companies, including Andersen Consulting, Dell and Xuma. He has a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas, Austin.
    
oracle_scott_genereux Scott Genereux is now SVP of Global Hardware Strategy, Planning and Product Management at Oracle Corporation. Previously he served as president and CEO of Nirvanix, implementing a strategy that enabled the company to double its revenue and more than double its monthly recurring revenue in 2012. Nirvanix also became a leader in the enterprise cloud storage market as demonstrated by signing a 5-year OEM pact with IBM Global Services; a strategic reseller pact with Dell; and a multitude of petabyte-scale cloud storage customer wins such as Credit Suisse, Cerner and USC. Prior to Nirvanix, heI served as SVP of WW Sales and Marketing at QLogic. Prior that,  he was at DataDirect Networks, as SVP of WW Sales, Marketing and Support. Prior to DDN, he headed up a $2.7B global storage business for HDS as SVP of WW Sales, Marketing and Support.
