"We are excited to have Bill take over all of engineering at our company," said Larry Firestone, president and CEO. "Bill’s leadership and discipline will drive Qualstar’s engineering team to become a ‘new product production machine’ which is a key ingredient to our growth strategy."
Lurie joined Qualstar in 1996 and has been involved with every facet of the design and packaging of the company’s tape library families. As engineering manager he led the new RLS-8500 Expandable Tape Library project from concept to successful introduction.
As VP of engineering, he is now responsible for all mechanical, electrical and software engineering activities for Qualstar’s storage business and for the company’s N2Power division power supply business.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of California Santa Barbara. He has also has completed Technical and Program Management studies at UCLA and UCSB.
