The report ranked CTERA Networks Ltd. as the Champion in a market that’s predicted to grow significantly.
"Though on-site disk is currently still the go – to backup target for most, we see major growth in cloud storage," said John Sloan, lead research analyst for Info-Tech Research Group. "Through our research, we found that cloud storage for backup and DR was the most popular use case among Cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service implementers. Cloud backup remains a small but growing area of backup architecture. Onsite disk backup targets remain the dominant area of investment for most enterprises looking at new backup architectures, and tape targets have been making a bit of a comeback. However, Info-Tech has seen a 100% increase in the proportion of buyers looking at cloud replication."
As the lone Champion in the report, CTERA’s cloud backup gateway solution is tailored for SMEs and remote/branch offices. The ability to specifically choose backup parameters to better suit individual organization needs and consumer-type sharing features also gained the company the Trend Setter award. Propelled by customer feedback, CTERA’s portal drives ease of storage and backup management across multiple locations.
TwinStrata, Inc. was awarded the Best Overall Value award for having a solution with a wide breadth of features at a competitive price point. Ranking as an Innovator in the report, TwinStrata’s enhanced ecosystem allows for a wider span of services with better delivery. Founded in 2007, TwinStrata just released its cloud backup solution in 2010 but has been able to support and promote the offering through its international reach.
