Version 3 adds centralized CSV cluster management and backup, a 300% increase in backup performance, drive rotation and more.
Built upon Altaro’s philosophy of combining performance with usability, Hyper-V Backup was developed with two main objectives:
- To allow SMBs to suitably protect their VMs without investing in costly solutions and/or expensive specialized IT staff,
- To enable them to minimize VM backup time.
The software is Hyper-V aware, taking five minutes to install, configure and does not require knowledge of the inner workings of Hyper-V. This is for SMB that often do not have large IT support staff.
In addition, by taking advantage of Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy (VSS) technology, Altaro’s latest offering allows live Linux backups and intelligent backup scheduling when backing up VMs on a CSV with the new Schedule Groups functionality.
"Having exhaustively evaluated Hyper-V backup products the Altaro solution stood head and shoulders above from both a performance and ease of use perspective," commented Julian Shaw, Technical Director at Computerworld Business Solutions, a Microsoft Gold Virtualization Partner. "We have now deployed this solution to a number of our clients from a large school with a cluster to a single server with 2 guest machines and the customer feedback has consistently been excellent".
"We’re extremely happy with the success we’ve seen with our Hyper-V backup solution, it’s been our most successful launch to date and has tripled company revenue literally overnight," said David Vella, CEO at Altaro. "We continue our commitment to providing easy to use Hyper-V backup solutions with our latest offering which packs the features of competing products which cost over double the price".
