San Joaquin Valley College Got EMC VNXe

EMC Corporation announced that
San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC), a private California junior college with more than
7,000 students, faculty and staff, selected EMC VNXe unified storage over NetApp
and Dell/Compellent for its simplicity, which reduced storage management time
by 50%, and the VNXe system’s ability to scale in a VMware virtual
environment.

Customer Challenges:
Like many
academic institutions, SJVC now provides students, faculty and staff with 24/7
access to educational and administrative content. Growing demand from its more
than 7,000 users was placing overbearing stress on its existing storage
infrastructure, forcing a move to greater scalability, flexibility and
simplified management. Additionally, SJVC was previously unable to integrate
their existing storage solution with their VMware virtualization and cloud

The college
considered a number of vendors including NetApp, Dell/Compellent and EMC. After research, SJVC selected EMC for its "no compromises"
