CSE is a four-year private college in the Catholic liberal arts
tradition providing academic programs for approximately 2,100 students of
diverse ages, backgrounds, and cultures.

"We needed to
increase storage to maintain high-performance for our fast-growing virtual
environment and to help ensure the success of our desktop virtualization
initiative,
" comments Brad Morton, chief technology officer at CSE.
"Coraid has developed a
high-performing, easy-to-manage and extremely cost-effective product leveraging
Ethernet SAN technology. Coupled with the company’s excellent service and
support, no other solution within our price range could compete.
"

CSE purchased a Coraid EtherDrive
SRX3200
with close to 30TB of capacity in four solid-state and 14
two-terabyte SATA drives
. The installation and configuration of the SRX3200
took just 30 minutes, including the provisioning of storage to CSE’s VMware
test environment.

Using software, off-the-shelf
hardware and standard Ethernet, Coraid EtherDrive storage arrays provide lower
OPEX and a 5-8x price/performance advantage over legacy storage.

Coraid
Ethernet SAN leverages low overhead, parallel Ethernet
connectivity and the CorOS
distributed storage operating system
to deliver up to 1,800 MB/s of
throughput – better than FFC performance – using
industry-standard hardware.
