Synology XS Series NAS Up to 100,000 IO/s and 1GB/s Transfer Rate

Synology America Corp. announced the xs series of NAS.

These latest entries boast up to 100,000 IOPS, and transfer speeds up to 1,000 MB/s. Beginning under $5,000, the xs series can scale to over 100TB.

Synology was already in the sub-$1,000 category – with the DS1511+ taking Editors’ Choice awards from both CNET and PC Mag. Its DiskStation Manager set a new standard in NAS management. The DS1511+ is recognized as unmatched in performance and features in the sub-$1,000 range; consistently the highest rated in Amazon’s NAS category.

With the advent of the xs series, Synology is poised to extend its leadership into the sub-$10,000 arena, delivering an unparalleled price/performance ratio. With performance tested up to 100,000 IOPS or up to 1,000 MB/s transfer speeds, the xs series is ready for virtual environments.

The RS3411RPxs is a 10-bay 2U rack mount NAS that will accept up to two RX1211RP expansion modules for up to 34 drives. In addition to various RAID levels available, the RS3411RPxs also sports redundant PSUs to help maximize uptime.

The DS3611xs is a 12-bay desktop model that will accept up to two DX1211 expansion modules for up to 36 drives.
