Datacastle Corp. have partnered with dacoma GmbH to offer a German cloud-based
backup and data protection solution.
The partnership between Datacastle and dacoma, will enable
dacoma to host a number of Datacastle vaults to provision data
backup and security services to its customer base, using a single agent that is centrally managed. The data is stored within the local cloud of
the dacoma data center and will not leave Germany.
"According to Germany’s Federal Data Protection
Act (Bundesdatebschutzgesetz) BDSG, each business partner needs to be informed
in case of data breach," said Jan Heumuller, Managing Director at dacoma. "Therefore it is very important to ensure the data will not be
compromised. When protected with Datacastle RED, the sensitive data is safe as
it is recoverable, encrypted, and can be remotely deleted."
"It was important for Datacastle to partner with an
organisation which has the ability to store data within German territory,"
said Phil Evans, VP of Business Development (EMEA) for Datacastle. "dacoma
Germany has a great customer base and a good reputation for offering a high
quality of service, we are very pleased that they selected Datacastle to
partner with them to bring cloud-based backup and data protection solution to
the German market."
