Atempo Digital Archive Revenues Grew by 35% Y/Y

Time Navigator by 7%

Global demand for archiving and data protection drove record revenues for the company in 2010. Worldwide license revenues of the Atempo Digital Archive (ADA) platform grew 35 percent last year.

The company’s backup and data protection solution, Atempo Time Navigator, also grew 7 percent during the same period, slightly above the market growth estimated by Gartner. Due to customer adoption of Atempo’s deduplication and virtualization modules, growth accelerated during the last quarter to 22 percent.

The financial results further validate the company’s strategy to integrate data protection and archiving solutions, and provide customers with a unified platform to manage their critical backup and archiving needs.

Customer momentum
Atempo continued to grow market share in the enterprise and midsize business sectors during 2010. Demand in the media and entertainment industry and life sciences was particularly significant, with several high profile customer wins including J Walter Thompson, the National Film Board of Canada, biotherapy research center Genethon and Saint Gobain Glass.

Commenting on the company’s record year, Neal Ater, president and chief executive officer (CEO) at Atempo, said: "2010 was a significant year for Atempo and we anticipate continued growth as more and more businesses are coming to rely on our solutions to protect, manage, archive, and recover digital information simply and effectively, across any infrastructure, on any platform, over any period of time."

Alan Dayley, managing vice president of the Infrastructure Software team at Gartner supports this view explaining: "Archiving is the fastest-growing segment of storage management software, projected to grow 21.8% CAGR through 2015, and the larger backup segment continues to grow, albeit at a slower pace of 5.2% CAGR through 2015."

Broad platform adoption,
expanded applications support

In addition to record growth, Atempo experienced increasing demand and customer adoption across the entire data management portfolio, including Atempo Time Navigator’s block-level data deduplication and virtualization modules, file and email archiving products, and application plug-ins for MS-Exchange, MS-SharePoint, Oracle, SQL and Novell OES2. Atempo announced a number of hardware and software certifications with BlueArc, EMC Data Domain and Tiger Technology’s metaSAN.

Atempo also enhanced digital archiving for the media and entertainment industry with the release of Atempo Digital Archive and the integration with Digital Asset Management tools and media-related applications such as Apple Final Cut Pro & Final Cut Server, Building4Media FORK and CatDV.

Global partner expansion
Atempo has also increased the number of business partners in key markets and today has more than 200 resellers operating in over 20 countries. Recent additions to its partner network include IMT Global (USA), Global Distribution (UK), Video Promotion (France/Belgium) and Media Logic (Germany).

Ater concluded: "With demand for our solutions greater than ever before, it’s essential that we have in place the management team, partner network and service and support mechanisms to ensure we continue to provide an excellent customer experience."
