DS3 DataVaulting Expands Europ Assistance Support

DS3 DataVaulting, a data management solutions provider, has expanded support for Europ Assistance USA (EA), the professional partner helping businesses strengthen customer relationships through travel, health, and personal services. With the DS3 Remote solution, Europ Assistance will be able to ensure the integrity of the critical and often sensitive data utilized by its highly mobile global workforce.

Europ Assistance USA offers assistance solutions on behalf of insurance companies and banks in 208 countries and territories around the globe. Solutions include 24×7 emergency medical services and identity theft resolution at 36 assistance centers worldwide. Europ Assistance has been working with DS3 since 2005 to protect its enterprise server data, utilizing DS3’s comprehensive business continuity and disaster mitigation solution.

The addition of the DS3 Remote solution gives Europ Assistance the ability to better protect confidential and key operational information that is typically stored and accessed on laptops in the field. Medical teams, for example, are able to ensure the continuity of critical emergency information to enable the best care possible for travelers who may become ill or injured. Mobile data loss can be quickly mitigated through an easy, user-controlled solution that is downloaded directly onto the laptop and backs up files without user intervention or burdensome computer interruptions. Data restore is accomplished through the local laptop or, if the laptop is unavailable, through a web portal, giving Europ Assistance field personnel the ability to recover data easily through any available Internet access point. Four levels of security ensure that only authorized users can access and retrieve files through the web portal. In addition, information technology personnel can easily manage accounts and quotas from a single console. Management reports show who is backing up, how much they are backing up and, most importantly, who is not backing up their files.
