IBC 2026: Archiware Expands P5 Archive Integration with ELEMENTS Media Library

Flexible, high-performance archiving to LTO, cloud and NAS

Archiware, a specialist in data management and security solutions, and ELEMENTS announce a new integration to P5 Archive. The integration allows users to archive content directly from the ELEMENTS Media Library interface to LTO tape libraries through Archiware P5 Archive. The new integration builds on existing support for Archiware P5 agents running on ELEMENTS systems for content backup, bringing P5 Archive capabilities directly into the ELEMENTS Media Library. Users can now manage archiving directly within the Media Library, with the flexibility to archive content to LTO tape, cloud and supported NAS storage. This gives media organizations greater choice in how they store and protect their content.

With the optional P5 Archive DLM (data lifecycle management) module, files can be migrated, replicated, verified and moved between disk, cloud and LTO according to defined policies while making it easier to adapt their archive strategy as storage, security and operational requirements change.

LTO provides a cost-effective solution for long-term media preservation, offering a strong price-perterabyte ratio, an inherent air gap for cyber resilience and support from multiple vendors. P5 Archive can parallelize tape drive operations to maximize throughput, while multiple LTO drives can be used simultaneously for archive and restore jobs support for LTFS provides vendor-independent access to archived content, while P5 also offers its native archive format as an option. P5 Archive additionally optimizes LTFS performance when working with small files.

P5 Archive can be combined with P5 Backup and P5 Synchronize, providing organizations with a comprehensive approach to protecting, managing and preserving their media content.

The integration represents the next step in the development of ELEMENTS’ archiving capabilities and will progressively replace its existing Tape Archive module and dedicated Tape Worker. By leveraging P5, ELEMENTS customers can benefit from a wider choice of archive destinations, scalable performance and lifecycle flexibility.
