Synology Launches RS11626xs+ for Organizations Requiring Petabyte-Scale Enterprise Storage

Synology launched the RS11626xs+, a 3U 20-bay high-performance storage system engineered for organizations managing petabyte-scale, rapidly growing data in mission-critical environments.“Businesses today require storage solutions that not only handle immediate, heavy workloads but also guarantee seamless scalability for the next several years,” said Bie-i Chu, EVP, NAS group, Synology. “The RS11626xs+ is built specifically to address this long-term need, delivering massive capacity expansion, versatile performance upgrades, and the enterprise-grade reliability organizations need to grow with confidence.”

An unique hardware architecture designed for accelerated data growth
The RS11626xs+ features sixteen 3.5″/2.5″ drive bays and four dedicated 2.5″ SSD bays in a 3U chassis. It scales non-disruptively up to 116 bays and over 2.6 PB of raw capacity with eight RX1222sas expansion units. Two internal M.2 NVMe slots run DiskStation Manager in RAID-1, keeping OS activity off the data path so the system can sustain up to 895,000/234,000 4K random read/write IO/s and 10,500/8,200 MB/s sequential throughput under demanding enterprise workloads.

Dual built-in 10GbE ports support Link Aggregation for automatic failover, and optional 10GbE/25GbE SFP+/SFP28 or FC adapters are available as workloads grow. Redundant power supplies and SAS multipath expansion connectivity keep the system running through component failures. Paired units can run Synology HA for minute-level cluster recovery.
