FMS 2026: SNIA Highlights Next-Generation Memory, AI, and Storage Standards

This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 30, 2026 at 2:00 pmSNIA invites attendees of Future of Memory and Storage (FMS) 2026, August 4-6 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, to visit the SNIA kiosk in the Industry Standards Pavilion (Booth 725) to learn about the latest industry standards and technology initiatives shaping the future of data and storage infrastructure.
SNIA experts will be available throughout the event to discuss the organization’s work on storage management, memory technologies, interoperability, and emerging architectures. Visitors can also see demonstrations featuring MRAM (Magnetoresistive Random Access Memory) and SNIA Swordfish, SNIA’s open standard for scalable storage management.
SNIA will present a dedicated Industry association track on Wednesday, August 5, in Ballroom C:
- 9:45am – SNIA: Accelerating the Future of Data and Storage Infrastructure – From AI to Next-Generation Memory presented by Richelle Ahlvers, Intel and SNIA Board vice chair
- 10:00am – StorageAI: Enabling Data and Storage Infrastructure for AI Workloads presented by J Metz, AMD and SNIA board chair
- 10:15am – MRAM: Advancing Next-Generation Memory Through Industry Collaboration presented by Daniel Worledge, IBM
- 10:30am – Emerging Data Technologies and Architectures presented by Curtis Ballard, AMD and SNIA technical council co-hair
These presentations will explore how SNIA is advancing open standards and fostering industry collaboration in areas including AI infrastructure, next-gen memory, storage management, composable architectures, and emerging data technologies.
Also on Wednesday, August 5, at 7:15pm, attendees can meet with SNIA experts at several Chat with the Experts discussion tables, where attendees can ask questions in an informal setting about the latest developments in:

- AI data center memory
- Storage management
- MRAM technology
