NTI Introduces Echo 7 with More Flexible, Robust Disk Cloning

Latest release enhances filtered cloning, BitLocker drive support, and bidirecƟonal cloning between 4K-naƟve and 512-byte sector disks

NTI Corp., a developer of data backup and storage-management software, announced the release of NTI Echo 7, the latest version of its popular disk-cloning software.Echo 7 delivers a more capable and robust cloning experience while retaining the signature ease of use that has long distinguished NTI Echo. The new release expands support for filtered cloning, improves compatibility with BitLocker drives, and enables cloning between disks that use different physical-sector formats.

“Storage technology continues to evolve, and users need cloning software that can handle a wider variety of drive configurations without becoming more complicated to use,” said Bill Yao, president, NTI Corporation. “Echo 7 provides greater flexibility for drive upgrades, replacements, and migrations—including cloning to smaller-capacity drives and working across 4K-native and 512-byte sector disks—while preserving the straighƞorward experience our customers expect from NTI.”

Expanded 4K-Sector Compatibility
NTI Echo 7 adds support for cloning between 4K-native and 512-byte sector disks in both directions. Users can clone from a 4K-native disk to a 512-byte sector disk or from a 512-byte sector disk to a 4K-native disk.

This expanded compatibility gives users, technicians, system builders, and storage-device manufacturers greater flexibility when upgrading, replacing, deploying, or repurposing drives across newer and legacy storage environments.

Enhanced Filtered Cloning
NTI Echo 7 includes enhanced support for filtered cloning, allowing users to exclude selected files and data from the cloning process. By reducing the amount of data transferred, users can clone a larger source drive to a smaller target drive, provided the selected data fits within the target drive’s available capacity.

This capability is particularly useful when migrating from a larger hard disk drive to a smaller solid-state drive. It also helps users make more efficient use of available storage space by transferring only the data needed on the new drive.
