Dell Tech World 2026: Dell Powers Samsung Electronics AI-Driven Semiconductor Factories

Yet another joint effort reflecting shared strategic goals

Summary:

  • Samsung Electronics use Dell solutions for its AI-driven semiconductor design, manufacturing and automation at global scale
  • Dell serves as the infrastructure foundation for Samsung’s transformation to AI-driven semiconductor manufacturing
  • Dell AI solutions deliver the compute, storage and data movement required to run AI continuously across one of the world’s most complex manufacturing environments

Dell Technologies is working with Samsung Electronics to build an infrastructure for AI-driven semiconductor manufacturing. Deployed across its research, chip design and production critical systems, Dell AI solutions support Samsung’s transformation from automated manufacturing to factories that analyze, adapt and operate with continuous intelligence.

Why it Matters
Semiconductor manufacturing sits at the center of global AI growth. The chips that power AI, including HBM, conventional DRAM and NAND, are designed and built inside fabs that must now operate with the same intelligence they help enable.

Samsung is a leading integrated device manufacturer, offering AI solutions that span memory, logic design, foundry and advanced packaging. As AI adoption accelerates across industries, the company is going beyond automation. It’s embedding AI into its design, engineering and production workflows. It is also leveraging digital twins, real-time analytics and AI agents to predict risks and enhance precision, yield and quality.

As the entire semiconductor manufacturing workflow becomes increasingly complex, fabs must process continuous data streams that demand real time interpretation. Few enterprise environments generate data at this volume, velocity and criticality. Dell provides the infrastructure to handle it, at scale, without interruption, across global operations.

Infrastructure built for AI-driven manufacturing
Dell solutions provide standardized building blocks for compute, storage and data movement that support AI models and critical systems running simultaneously.

Within Samsung’s fabs, AI models analyze equipment telemetry, process data and inspection outputs to support digital twins and yield optimization. These workflows require predictable performance and reliable access to large datasets generated at each process step.

Dell AI infrastructure supports that consistency across Samsung’s global IT and manufacturing environments – from R&D and chip design to production-critical systems — enabling Samsung’s teams to deploy repeatable architectures that support local requirements while aligning with global standards. Global consistency is key as Samsung expands advanced memory such as HBM, logic processes and advanced packaging operations that rely on precise coordination across multiple facilities.

That foundation is what makes the next step possible. Samsung’s strategy moves beyond rule-based automation toward advanced autonomy, systems that learn and adapt in real time. AI agents support decision-making across engineering, maintenance and quality workflows, while orchestration platforms align production behavior across global sites. As demands grow, Dell provides the infrastructure depth required to scale AI continuously— across facilities, geographies and the full semiconductor lifecycle.

Perspectives
“As AI adoption accelerates, semiconductors are no longer just components—they are the foundation of global innovation,” Dr. Yong‑Ho Song, DVP, Samsung Electronics. “At Samsung, we are embedding AI across design, engineering, and production to move beyond automation toward intelligence. That shift requires infrastructure we can trust at scale, and our long‑standing work with Dell Technologies supports the reliability and predictability this transformation demands.”

“Semiconductors sit at the center of AI’s growth and manufacturing them at scale demands infrastructure built for consistency, resilience, and long‑term evolution,” said Richard McLaughlin, president, Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China, Dell Technologies. “Samsung is applying AI across the full semiconductor lifecycle, from design to production, and Dell Technologies brings decades of enterprise infrastructure expertise to deliver the stable foundation for AI-driven manufacturing.”
