StorPool Unveils StorPool One: The Fair-Cost Virtualization Platform Delivering True Peace of Mind

StorPool One is the enterprise-grade, integrated KVM cloud platform

StorPool Storage, a active player in software-defined primary data storage solutions, announced the launch of StorPool One. It is a fully integrated KVM-based cloud platform that helps organizations regain control of infrastructure costs while achieving enterprise-grade reliability and performance.StorPool One is a comprehensive, integrated solution which combines all essential components  of a full Software-Defined Infrastructure (SDI) virtualization stack: Linux KVM hypervisor, host operating system, cloud management platform, software-defined storage and software-defined networking – all pre-integrated, delivered and fully supported as one bundle, by one vendor. As organizations reevaluate virtualization strategies and seek greater control over infrastructure costs, demand for production-proven Linux KVM-based cloud platforms continues to grow. StorPool One offers a seamless path to a cost-efficient, open platform with enterprise-grade reliability and proactive, mission-critical technical support. This turnkey solution eliminates complexity and accelerates time-to-value, enabling businesses to transition from VMware, bare-metal, or public cloud deployments to virtualized KVM environments with confidence and peace of mind.

Leveraging the StorPool Storage technology, the StorPool One solution ensures consistent low-latency performance, with sub-100µs in-VM latency, 99.999%+ availability, and automated backups and workload protection from disaster scenarios.

Why StorPool One:

  • Cost Reduction: Up to 67% or 3 times cheaper than VMware Cloud Foundation
  • One Single Virtualization Stack: A bundle of all essential components of a capable virtualization stack
  • A one-stop-shop solution: coming from one vendor, with full 24/7/365 support & Service Level Agreement. Not a Do-It-Yourself solution nor managing multiple vendors
  • Rock-Solid and Production Proven: Running in production for years at 99.999% of availability
  • A viable alternative: with built in backups, Disaster Recovery, professional & managed services, migration paths, from a proven and profitable leader in software-defined software solutions with a 15 years’ track record

“Migrating to StorPool One significantly reduced our operational overhead, allowing staff to focus more on running applications and less on managing and maintaining the hypervisor layer,” said Richard Zhao, COO, NSFOCUS. “We also achieved a significant storage performance increase over our previous virtualization platform, enabling us to do more with the same hardware capacity while reducing power costs.”

With StorPool One, customers receive the full value of the capable StorPool Storage platform, combined with expert fully managed services. StorPool’s team supports all operational phases of the on-premises cloud from architecture and deployment to monitoring and lifecycle management. This comprehensive support model allows IT staff to focus on core business and strategic initiatives, knowing that the underlying infrastructure is running optimally.

“The virtualization market today is desperately looking for proven, cost efficient alternatives which come with the needed functionality, support and ancillary capabilities such as backup, DR and migrations in one bundle,” said Boyan Ivanov, CEO, StorPool. “StorPool One delivers a robust, complete, production-proven virtualization platform, wrapped with 24/7 enterprise-grade support with an SLA, backup, DR and simple migration paths that organizations can trust from day one.”

StorPool One is now generally available.

StorPool is a pioneer in software-defined storage (SDS), with a strong focus on block storage. While the company has expanded its offering into the file domain by adding an NFS layer on top, its core architecture remains fundamentally block-based. For several years, it has been widely adopted by server virtualization players and cloud service providers to manage storage efficiently.

The platform is feature-rich and highly flexible, supporting a wide range of environments and use cases. It delivers strong performance across different media types - HDD, SSD, or hybrid configurations - and can be deployed both on-premises and in the cloud.

StorPool is now entering a new phase by moving beyond the traditional storage stack. With the introduction of StorPool One, the company is embracing a HCI approach, adding application workload support and resource consolidation. In this model, StorPool SDS becomes the storage layer within a broader HCI stack.

This strategic shift reflects evolving market dynamics, particularly in light of the Broadcom/VMware deal, which has accelerated demand for alternative solutions. Vendors such as Nutanix - revitalized after a challenging period - as well as emerging and fast growing players like VergeIO, Scale Computing, Proxmox-based platforms, and now StorPool, are all capitalizing on this opportunity. While their origins differ, they are converging toward similar market needs.

As a company rooted in storage and driven by an SDS philosophy, StorPool is now extending its mission to include HCI capabilities. However, it is important to clarify that HCI is not primarily about storage. Organizations adopt HCI for broader infrastructure simplification, where storage is just one component among others. HCI solutions typically do not compete directly with standalone block, file, or object storage systems. Nutanix’s recent announcement about integrating Pure Storage arrays highlights this distinction. At the same time, some storage solutions are delivered as virtual machines or containers, which can blur the lines.

We expect to learn more during the upcoming 67th IT Press Tour in Sofia, Bulgaria, where StorPool will be presenting - its fourth participation in the event. It's also worth recalling that StorPool was first introduced to the broader audience by Philippe Nicolas back in 2014.

Most recently, the company received the StorageNewsletter Award 2026 in the Cloud Storage category.
