APM 1.1 further bolsters enterprise cyber resilience
The latest APM release introduces improvements to help organizations strengthen their data protection strategy. Here are the major highlights:
- Boosted cyber resilience: APM 1.1 enhances data security by introducing a new Allow Access Mode that offers granular network control, allowing inbound traffic only from whitelisted IP addresses during backup operations. Upon completion – or if backups finish ahead of schedule – the system automatically reverts to full isolation mode.
- Streamlined compliance support: The update enables organizations to perform multi-site, multi-geo backups to maintain data at designated geographical locations, thereby fulfilling local data residency requirements.
- Mass deployment: IT can now batch deploy agents to back up Proxmox environments with ease.
- New tiering support and remote storage options: ActiveProtect now supports data tiering capability that moves your data to your chosen remote storage destination, addressing your long-term retention needs. Moreover, while our initial remote storage support includes on-premises solutions (Synology SA and HD Series) and cloud platforms (C2 Object Storage and Amazon S3), the APM 1.1 update extends compatibility to include Wasabi cloud storage and select XS/XS+ model devices.
ActiveProtect appliances are available globally via Synology’s distributor and partner network.
