CyberStorage by Avaneidi takes the spotlight at the IIRW 2025 Sunday Night Tutorial

Avaneidi S.p.A took the stage at the IEEE International Integrated Reliability Workshop (IIRW) 2025, held October 5-9 at the Stanford Sierra Conference Center, South Lake Tahoe, CA.The conference opened with the Sunday Night Tutorial, “From Reliability to CyberSecurity: The Rise of CyberStorage”, delivered by Dr. Rino Micheloni, CEO and founder, Avaneidi. The session attracted an engaged and highly interested audience, earning enthusiastic feedback from the global reliability and semiconductor community.

A New Paradigm: From Reliability to Cyber Resilience
In his tutorial, Dr. Micheloni explored how CyberStorage is emerging as a new paradigm that bridges reliability engineering and cybersecurity, addressing the growing limitations of software-only defense mechanisms. He illustrated how embedding security and trust directly at the hardware level, through advanced SSD architectures, proprietary firmware, and zero-trust design principles, transforms storage from a passive medium into an active enabler of data protection.

Participants gained insight into how reliability modeling, security primitives, and regulatory frameworks (such as NIS2 and GDPR) converge in this new approach.

The tutorial also introduced Avaneidi’s forward-looking research in DNA-based storage, highlighting the company’s vision for long-term data durability and sovereignty.
