Working in partnership with many of the industry’s storage and server specialists, Tuxera’s proven and licensed software delivers demonstrable, monetizable gains in efficiency and productivity when every second counts in media workflows.

Over 3 decades, the company has developed into the leading specialist in quality-assured file systems, with customers including the automotive industry and industrial equipment manufacturers, as well as data-driven enterprises and cloud storage vendors. Drawing on its heritage, the company has developed Tuxera Fusion SMB, a fast enterprise-grade SMB server, and a companion for media networks which require large files to be moved quickly and reliably.

It offers performance across device-agnostic networks – Linux, MacOS and Windows – and scales from tiny microservices containers to massive storage clusters and cloud workflows. Tuxera Fusion SMB delivers far better performance and capabilities than open-source Samba, and supports up to 32 nodes compared to Samba’s 4 node limit. The company has been a partner with Microsoft Corp. since its early days, and Tuxera’s SMB implementation is fully licensed for client use.

When protocol performance makes the difference, Tuxera Fusion SMB delivers breakthrough capabilities. At NAB Show 2025, the company demonstrated 5.3GB/s throughput for Mac clients, but recent engineering advances have pushed this to 8.6GB/s from a single port on an ATTO Technology 100GbE card – more than double the performance users experience with open-source alternatives. With SMB over RDMA, Windows clients can achieve 11.3GB/s for each 100GbE port used, with linear performance scaling.

Despite the advances in remote working, the media industry today is reliant on fast, reliable and secure transfer of files from servers to workstations, and from site to site,” said Antti Alila, VP, enterprise solutions, Tuxera. “To build these architectures, they have to work with the best providers, which is why we are developing partnerships with top storage specialists, embedding Tuxera Fusion SMB into the networks and workflows that power today’s most demanding productions.”

The company works with a growing list of partners which include the biggest names in media storage, like Quantum, Pixitmedia by Datacore, and ATTO Technology. Proven in mission-critical installations, the partnership ecosystem is delivering real productivity and efficiency gains – a game-changer for content producers needing to deliver quality against tight timelines.
