Swiss Vault and JetStor Partner
To deliver sustainable storage with VaultFS, built for efficiency in the AI driven data age
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 25, 2025 at 2:00 pmSwiss Vault AG announced a partnership with JetStor to integrate Swiss Vault’s VaultFS distributed file system into JetStor’s portfolio, offering customers a new path to sustainable storage at scale.
VaultFS is available across JetStor’s modern storage platforms, providing a flexible, resilient foundation for S3-compatible object storage, POSIX-compliant file workloads, and active archive deployments. It delivers advanced data protection, low overhead, and a reduced environmental footprint, making it a powerful option for organizations navigating the demands of modern data growth.
“We are rethinking how we store data for the AI Age. In one deployment, we managed 10PB of active archive data using only 12PB of total storage. This is just 20% overhead compared to 200% with legacy systems like ZFS, while offering faster performance, and self-managing error correction. The result is fewer disks, less power, and easier management for the organization’s precious data,” said Bhupinder Bhullar, CEO, Swiss Vault.
VaultFS achieves its efficiency through advanced erasure coding, intelligent tiering, and self-healing architecture.
In early benchmarks, the system has demonstrated:
- Up to 60% reduction in storage overhead
- Over 50% reduction in power consumption
- Significant reduction in e-waste by minimizing hardware footprint and enabling systems to operate longer.
”VaultFS is fast, modular, and surprisingly elegant, it’s exactly the kind of file system we’re excited to offer, it aligns perfectly with our philosophy of giving customers better performance, better economics, and better outcomes, without unnecessary complexity,” said Jim Gallagher, CEO, JetStor.
Swiss Vault and JetStor share a commitment to delivering practical, efficient infrastructure that helps organizations store more, waste less, and move faster. The partnership reflects a mutual belief that sustainability and performance go hand in hand.
VaultFS is already powering multiple JetStor solutions, including JetStor Infinite, JetStor’s platform for on-demand data infrastructure, and JetBridge, a service designed to help organizations repatriate cold or infrequently accessed cloud data. Together, these offerings form the foundation of JetStor’s broader Data Platform-as-a-Service (DPaaS) vision-delivering turnkey infrastructure that meets tomorrow’s data demands with better efficiency.

JetStor already also partners with Leil Storage who develops SaunaFS, a scalable file system with advanced features dedicated to secondary storage.
