More Control and Less Complexity with Tiger Bridge 5.2

New interface and smarter automation, for a better control, faster workflows, and a more intuitive experience

Tiger Technology AD, a pioneer in data storage management, unveiled Tiger Bridge 5.2 and it’s designed to make hybrid and cloud data management easier, faster, and more flexible than ever. Whether you’re dealing with compliance needs, reducing cloud costs, or managing data across regions and platforms, this update delivers powerful enhancements that save time and boost control. Here’s a quick look at the top new features and what they mean for your productivity.

Tiger Bridge 5.2

Configure Separate Metadata Replication Location
Tiger Bridge 5.2 introduces the ability to designate a separate bucket or container specifically for storing metadata – now available when pairing with Amazon S3, S3-compatible storage, and Microsoft Azure Blob. This separation allows you to maintain immutable storage by keeping metadata distinct from the file data, which is essential for compliance scenarios. It also unlocks support for Amazon’s Multi-Region Access Points (MRAPs), enabling seamless cross-region access while maintaining strict control over how data and metadata are managed.

Choose Your Storage Tier on Google Cloud
When sending data to Google Cloud, you can now select the default storage class – whether that’s standard, nearline, or archive. No need to reclassify after upload. This gives you more control, saves time, and ensures that cost and access patterns match your business needs from the get-go.

Simplified Bucket and container Selection
Working with cloud storage just got easier. Instead of browsing through long (and sometimes unavailable) lists of buckets or containers, you can now type in the exact name you want to use – even when using limited-permission access like Azure SAS tokens. A new searchable dialog also helps you filter and find what you need faster.

Targeted Folder Rescanning for Faster Sync Fixes
The introduction of persistent database for storing local metadata, immensely improved the start-up time of Tiger Bridge operations after a reboot, when working with large datasets. However, datasets sometimes may fall out of sync. Previously, fixing this meant rescanning everything – an effort that could take days. Now, with Tiger Bridge 5.2, you can force a rescan of a specific folder using the command-line interface. It’s a quick fix that improves reliability without the heavy overhead.

Plus: More Enhancements Under the Hood

  • Support for Disk Archive ALTO targets
  • Specify archive retrieval option and rehydration
  • Moving data outside the source
  • Detailed statistics on managed data
  • Per-source configuration for data retrieval mode
  • Updated system requirements
