Xinnor Launches xiRAID Classic V.4.3 Software

With advanced data protection mechanisms, improvements in HA implementation and operational simplicity

Xinnor Ltd. announced the release of xiRAID Classic 4.3, introducing advanced data protection mechanisms, improvements in high availability implementation and operational simplicity for the end-customers.

Logo Xinnor

xiRAID Classic is the company’s Kernel-based software RAID solution designed for high-performance NVMe storage environments, providing advanced data protection and optimal performance for mission-critical applications.

Major improvements introduced in xiRAID Classic 4.3 are:

  • Silent Data Corruption Detection: a critical new feature that allows administrators to proactively scan xiRAID arrays for Silent Data Corruption, enabling early detection of data integrity issues that could otherwise go unnoticed. This capability is essential for maintaining data reliability in mission-critical environments.
  • Upgraded approach to RAID reinitialization after an ungraceful shutdown. The new logic performs targeted syndrome checks on individual stripes rather than full RAID recalculation, significantly accelerating the verification process while minimizing drive wear through reduced write operations.
  • Drives TRIM during RAID creation, automatically optimizing SSD performance whenever the drives support Deterministic Read Zero after TRIM (RZAT) and contain no metadata.
  • Multi-node High-Availability: a cluster of multiple servers can be connected in high availability to shared drives with automatic fail-over and fail-back (read more in our recent blog post).
  • Spare pools support in HA Pacemaker cluster, providing improved redundancy and automated failover capabilities for critical storage infrastructure.
  • Extended compatibility to include RHEL, Rocky Linux, and Alma Linux versions 9.6 and 10, as well as Proxmox versions 8.3 and 8.4, ensuring broader deployment flexibility across diverse environments.
  • xiRAID Prometheus exporter developed by E4 Computer Engineering S.p.A , enabling comprehensive monitoring and observability of xiRAID health metrics (learn more in a blog post).

Starting from version 4.3.0, a trial license for 4 drives is no longer supplied with the distribution.
