Sycomp Boosts Google Cloud

With data storage solution delivering 1.2TB/s of IO throughput

Sycomp A Technology Company, Inc., announced that it has achieved data-to-GPU performance of 1.2TB/s on Google Cloud (GCP) for AI scientific discovery and research.

Sycomp Boosts Google Cloud

This milestone innovation was achieved using Sycomp Intelligent Data Storage Platform for data-intensive and HPC workloads and models including Gen AI, Agentic AI, Computer Vision, ML, Deep Learning (DL) and Natural Language Processing (NLP).

GCP’s HPC and AI/ML customers demand amazing performance at competitive prices,” said Dean Hildebrand, technical director, office of the CTO, Google Cloud. “By scaling to 1.2TB/s of low latency reads and dynamically accessing and synchronizing data with existing Google Cloud Storage buckets, the latest Sycomp offering in the GCP Marketplace delivers a differentiated high-performance storage offering that can support the most critical and demanding workloads.

Sycomp has achieved data-to-GPU performance of 1.2TB/s on Google Cloud for AI scientific discovery and research.

Sycomp Intelligent Data Storage Platform includes a software-defined implementation with IBM Storage Scale, Sycomp’s Real Insight Storage Engine (RISE) to evaluate on-premise environments and expected cloud performance, as well as managed services and support. This platform enables IT and cloud teams easy access to object data with greater versatility by allowing users to choose the VMs and storage that meet and exceed price and performance goals. It can be deployed in a hybrid environment using intelligent data caching from on-premises, other globally dispersed cloud regions or Google Cloud Object Storage.

Sycomp Intelligent Data Storage Platform delivers multiple benefits, including:

  • Improved Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) performance
  • Improved price performance using storage optimized GCP Z3 systems
  • Enhanced utilization of Google’s A3 Ultra machines with 97% GPU utilization and single node throughput greater than 29 GB /sec
  • Improved performance and scale to 1.2TB/s of IO throughput
  • Transparent data mobility synchronizing data across data centers and clouds

Sycomp is a leader in data center, HPC and storage solutions for over 30 years, and we have expanded our solutions practice to help our customers with their AI infrastructure, advanced AI technology design, implementation, and software and development services,” said Saurabh Saxena, VP, global services and engineering, Sycomp. “Our Intelligent Data Storage Platform is proving to be a highly scalable and performance-rich capability for our HPC and AI customers.
