Computex 2025: AIC Unveils SB201-SU 2U Storage Server Platform
And collaboration with Micron and Intel to launch CXL-Enabled this next-gen storage server
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 21, 2025 at 2:00 pmAIC Inc. announced its latest 2U storage server platform SB201-SU, powered by Intel Xeon 6 processors.
This platform successfully integrates the Micron CZ122 memory expansion module based on the Compute Express Link (CXL) standard, marking a major advancement in data center solutions with enhanced scalability, low latency, and exceptional efficiency.
As AI, big data, and HPC continue to evolve at a rapid pace, enterprises are facing unprecedented challenges in memory and storage capabilities. The company’s SB201-SU platform, architected with CXL 2.0 support, combines high-density storage with flexible memory expansion to address the limitations of traditional architectures. It provides a reliable and adaptable compute foundation for AI inference, training, large-scale databases, and financial modeling, ensuring peak performance across demanding workloads.
Allen Tsai, senior enterprise server product manager, AIC, commented: “With the explosive growth of AI and data-intensive applications, enterprises now require even more flexible and high-performance compute and memory architectures. AIC has made continuous investments in developing hardware platforms that support advanced memory technologies. This collaboration with Micron and Intel is a significant step forward in realizing high-performance computing infrastructures that meet these evolving demands.“
A standout feature of this collaboration is the Micron CZ122 memory expansion module, an industry’s first product compliant with the CXL 2.0 standard. The CZ122 provides data centers with highly flexible memory capacity expansion, enabling an impressive improvement in server performance for AI workloads and other data-intensive applications. This innovation helps to meet workload demands and reduces TCO.
“CXL is a transformative technology for memory architectures in modern data centers,” said Vishal Tanna, director, CXL Systems and Software Engineering, Micron Technology, Inc. “The CZ122 is designed to address the growing challenges of memory bottlenecks in AI and data-intensive compute platforms. Our collaboration with AIC is accelerating the evolution of CXL from concept to practical, deployable solutions that significantly enhance memory performance and scalability for data center customers, unleashing the full potential of their platforms.“
The SB201-SU platform, powered by Xeon 6 processors, supports the CXL 2.0 standard to deliver high-bandwidth, low-latency data transmission, ensuring outstanding performance for both storage and compute tasks across the system.
Anil Godbole, marketing manager, data center technology, Intel Corp., commented: “CXL technology introduces a fundamental shift in data center architecture. Our collaboration with AIC and Micron showcases how CXL is moving from a theoretical standard to real-world, high-performance solutions, powered by Intel Xeon 6 processors. Together we are delivering unprecedented benefits for AI, HPC, and cloud workloads.”
AIC will showcase the SB201-SU platform and its integrated solution at Booth M1119a, 4F, at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center during Computex 2025, from May 20 to 23, 2025.
The SB201-SU platform is available for testing and technical support to customers globally.
