History 2005: MPO Closing Down Averton Manufacturing Optical Disc Facility

The difficulties within the European optical disk industry have been confirmed lately.

MPO, a French manufacturer of writable and pressed discs, a family-owned company will lay off 129 of its 750 employees this year, and is closing down its Averton manufacturing facility, to regroup all production in its Villaines-la-Juhel plant, according to a local newspaper.
