History 2005: New CEOs at Breece Hill, Avamar and CreekPath
Bob Schaefer, Ed Walsh and Mark Davis, respectively
By Jean Jacques Maleval | October 16, 2024 at 3:36 pmBob Schaefer was named president and CEO of Breece Hill, which he joined in 1993, the year the company was formed, and where he previously served as VP engineering and COO. He replaces Mark Armstrong, who will continue as a member of the board of directors. We’ve lost sight, however, of Phil Pascarelli, once CEO and then president of Breece Hill.
In a move to boost its sales, Avamar has replaced Kevin Daly with Ed Walsh as CEO. Walsh spent time at EMC, then Articulent (acquired by CNT), then more recently at CNT (acquired by McData) as SVP for sales, marketing and alliances. Daly will continue as an advisor to the company and assist through the transition.
To boost its momentum, CreekPath Systems replaced president and CEO Dennis Grant with Mark Davis. The latter was most recently VP marketing of Monosphere, formerly with Candera and Convergent Data Services, 3 storage start-ups that have since vanished, which doesn’t necessarily speak in his favor, unless you believe in the lessons of failure. Before then, Davis also spent time, oddly enough, at Sun and StorageTek, perhaps foretelling the current merger.
