Nearline Continues to Surge Lifting Total Capacity Shipment to 325+EB,
Units Rise to 32 Million HDDs
- 3.5″/2.5″ enterprise HDDs: solid hyperscale growth drove nearline capacity shipments to approximately 275EB and 15.3 million units in 3CQ24. Performance enterprise HDDs continues to soften, failing to around 0.8 million units.
- 3.5″ desktop/CA HDDs: total 3.5″ desktop/CE HDD shipments (including 3.5″ external and branded surveillance HDDs) eased slightly as a weak surveillance rebound was offset by falling demand in other 3.5″ markets. 3.5″ desktop/CA HDD shipments total roughly 9.0 million units.
- 2.5″ mobile/CE HDDs: 2.5″ mobile/CE HDD shipments held fat sequentially of approximately 6.4 million HDDs, reflecting typival seasonal patterns.
