History 2005: New Optical Disc Makers at CeBIT 2004
Here are some we saw for 1st time, or who changed their name.
By Jean Jacques Maleval | August 27, 2024 at 2:01 pmAs it is true every year, certain writable optical disc makers disappear from CeBIT from one year to the next, such as this time Creation Optical, Fuji, Gigastorage, Info Smart Technology, Infodisc, Mirex, MPO, Optical Media Production, Osodisk or Sentinel.
Here are some we saw for the first time, or who have changed their name, present at this year’s edition:
- EDD Bizz, formerly Euro Digital Disc, in Germany, manufacturing notably for Philips and Nashua, with announced monthly production of 1.5 million DVD-R and 2.5 million CD-R.
- Ever Richly Enterprises producing CD-R and DVD-R in Hong-Kong.
- Infomedia, established in Taiwan back in December 2003, the former blank optical disc division of leading DVD manufacturer Infodisc Technology, to produce DVD-R and DVD-RW.
- Infoscience Media in Hong-Kong.
- King Disc Technology in Taiwan, producing DVD-R as well as stampers.
- Liao Shang Trading, in CD/DVD-R in China.
- LiaoYuan JiuZhou CyberTech, established in China in 2003, to make CD-R and DVD-R.
- MCK Group’s Thai Media Industries, formerly MCK Industries, a VHS cassette maker, which decided last eyar to venture into DVD-R manufacturing in Thailand.
- Must Tech in DVD-R in Taiwan.
- Pangol MediaTec producing DVD-R only in China.
- Pop Media Technology, making CD-R/RW and DVD-R in Hong Kong.
- Tarako International in Taiwan, a manufacturer of polycarbonates that has expanded to CD-R and DVD-R.
