History 2005: WW FC Market at $176 Million in 4Q04
Grew yearly 12% and 9% sequentially.
By Jean Jacques Maleval | August 20, 2024 at 2:00 pmAccording to market research company Dell’Oro Group, the WW FC market grew yearly 12% during 4Q04 to $176 million and 9% sequentially.
Both the modular and fixed switch market segments posted record sales in the quarter, each gaining 9% sequentially.
“The modular segment grew less than the historic fourth quarter double-digit growth rate experienced in recent years,” said John Carvell, principal analyst for SAN research at Dell’Oro Group. “However, we believe this is not an indication of weakness in the market, but rather it is a reflection of the strength of 3Q04, when modular sales grew 8% sequentially as endusers embraced new modular platforms which were introduced during the past year.“
In 4Q04, as in 3Q04, McData is ≠1 in revenue, followed by Brocade, Cisco and CNT (acquired by McData).
