History 2005: Fujitsu Released HDD Sales Figures

In 4Q04, produced 4.166 million mobile devices, consequently ≠2 behind Hitachi GST and in front of Toshiba

Fujitsu Computer Products of America is now officially releasing HDD sales figures, so we thought we’d get them while they’re hot.

In 4Q04, the company produced 4.166 million mobile HDDs, to become, by its reasoning, the 2nd largest supplier (behind Hitachi GST and now in front of Toshiba) of 2.5-inch drives, with 25.6% in overall market share.

This figure represents a 27% increase over 3Q04 and an 88% increase compared to 4Q03.

This is the 10th consecutive quarter that Fujitsu has enjoyed growth in its mobile sales.

In the enterprise HDD drive market, Fujitsu said that it increased shipments to 1.364 million units, a 13% increase compared to 4Q03.
