History 2004: Financial Rounds of Storage Start-Ups
Linux Networx, Acopia, Intellireach and Seanodes

After closing a second round of $30 million last year, and now an additional $25 million, switch start-up Acopia Networks has raised total capital of more than $65 million.
The Dedham, MA-based Intellireach has secured $7 million in venture capital. The company’s product helps Exchange, GroupWise and Notes to tackle spam, virus, secure email, email storage and archiving, email policy compliance and integrated system monitoring and reporting.
French storage grid company Seanodes, formerly Storagency, concluded an initial financing round for €1.5 millions. The CEO is Jacques Baldinger, a former director of the South Europe subsidiaries of NetApp, who replaced founder Christophe Guittenit, now director of R&D. Seanodes expects to hire a dozen or so engineers before the end of 2005.
