History 2004: Financial Rounds of 5 Storage Start-Ups

Intransa, Copan, Polyserve, Sanrad and Arkeia Software

  • Intransa, in IP SAN, secured a 4th financial round of $25 million, bringing its total equity investment to $74 million.
  • D2D backup company Copan Systems has raised $25 million in a 2nd funding round, bringing total investment in the company to $39 million.
  • Involved in shared data clustering software for Linux and Windows, PolyServe just rounded up $20 million in a 4th round of financing, bringing the 5-year-old company’s total funding to $63 million. 
  • Sanrad, working in iSCSI virtualization switches, has closed an $8 million funding round, a portion of which must be used to move its WW headquarters from Israel to the Silicon Valley.
  • Franco-American firm Arkeia Software has completed a $4 million round equity funding from 2 French banks. The company claims 4,000 customers for its Linux backup software.
