History 2004: Finisar Purchased Assets of Data Transit Corporation

Public company Finisar, provider of FC and network testers, has completed the purchase of the assets of Data Transit Corporation, a privately-held manufacturer of SATA, SAS and protocol analyzers based in San Jose, CA, for $16 million in stock.

The acquired business will be operated as a part of Finisar’s network tools division at its facility in Sunnyvale, CA.

For the 6 months ended June 30, 2004, Data Transit recognized approximately $2.5 million of pretax income on revenue of $7.3 million.

Finisar, meanwhile, had sales of $61.9 million for a net loss of $22 million during its first fiscal quarter ending in July.
