History 2004: Kroll Ontrack Acquired Quorum Litigation Services
For $39 million in cash
By Jean Jacques Maleval | April 17, 2024 at 2:01 pmKroll Ontrack, a subsidiary of Kroll, and the world’s leading data recovery and electronic evidence firm, has acquired Quorum Litigation Services for $39 million in cash.
The latter, specialized in litigation support documentation, was founded in 1966 as an internal department of Control Data to support its massive antitrust litigation effort vs. IBM, and later began marketing the same automated document management services to other law firms and legal departments.
But, more importantly, a few days latter came another announcement, this time for the acquisition of the totality of Kroll by Marsh & McLennan Companies in an $1.9 billion all-cash transaction. This $11 billion company is a global professional services firm, under parent companies Marsh, one of the world’s leaders in risk and insurance services, Puman Investments in investment management, and Mercer, in consulting services.
