Comments:
Continuous backup technology capable of analyzing changes at the block-level has enormous appeal, and no doubt enormous potential, since it’s the only system that will permit full point-of-time recovery. The firm’s management team is full of Veritas alums. VC capitalist Peter Levine, the new CEO of Mendocino replacing Prashant Dholakia, was executive VP for strategic platform operations at the software giant. President and COO Steven Colman was VP of WW OEM and strategic alliances, and CTO Jeff Rothschild was a co-founder of Veritas. There’s also VP of product operations Chris Eidler, who was Nishan’s CTO. What’s slightly worrying, however, is that the software product, known as RealTime, was acquired from Vyant Technologies, a start-up that has since folded.
